The income from the Premier League is almost double those of La Liga and Bundesliga

The financial power of the Premier League continues to blow up its European rivals out of the water, combined income is almost double those of Germany and Spain according to recently released figures from UEFA.

In the latest evidence of the significant competitive advantage of England, the UEFA European Funding and Investment Report of UEFA has shown that the Premier League clubs indicate a turnover of just over 7.1 billion euros (5.9 billion pounds Sterling) during the year 2023. Bundesliga, reported 3.7 billion euros and 3.6 billion euros respectively. It is part of a broader image in which the revenues of the main divisions of the continent totaled 26.8 billion euros, 17% more than before the Pandemic COVID-19.

The median revenues of a Premier League club were 60% higher than their equivalents from Bundesliga and more than three times those of Serie A and La Liga, in what is essentially a comparison between the midfield teams. This has been mainly motivated by the dissemination of money and the disparity probably seems to become more dramatic in the years to come in the middle of a largely dark image for the figures for the rights of television in many of the major leagues.

Internal broadcasting revenues at all levels increased by 3% modest in the five years to 2023, pale compared to much larger jumps in commercial, sponsors and doors. The first data for 2024 indicates an increase of 11% of income from doors last year, with income from the seats of a major driver. The crowds turned out to be up 6% at the pre-countryic levels.

The wages of the Premier League players increased 49% of their income on average. Wages have only increased by 3% around the continent in 2023 and 4.5% in early declaration clubs in 2024. UEFA estimates that its cost control rules are proven, which will limit expenses for wages and 70% of income for next season, will hinder after having been gradually deployed in the past two years. An increase of 19% of the growth of non-playing wages suggests that clubs undertake to invest heavier in technical and administrative staff. Total salary among division lead clubs in Europe exceeded 18 billion euros.

The report detailed that the Chelsea team at the end of the 2024 fiscal year was the most expensive of all time, its combined transfer cost of 1.66 billion euros and exceeding 1.33 million euros spent by Real Madrid to assemble their 2020 team. Three other clubs, all in the Premier League, had teams that cost more than 1 billion euros: and Arsenal.

Nine English clubs were included in the top 20 wages of the continent for 2023-24, City leading the quota of the high flight by taking second place behind Paris Saint-Germain. Arsenal, United, Tottenham and Liverpool were among the eight European teams to take more than 100 million euros in door income in 2023.
