PCA says that the disparity of gender wages in a hundred “cannot be allowed to continue”

The Professional Association of Cricket Players underlined the expansion of the gap of remuneration between the sexes in the hundred “cannot be authorized to continue”.

Payroll bandoups were raised for the 2025 competition season, but the overall pot increased by 25%, the gulf between the potential of gaining leading men and women is also increasing.

The best salary group of male teams is now £ 200,000, against £ 65,000 in the female game, taking the differential at the highest level of £ 75,000 in 2024 to £ 135,000 this summer.

The ACP clearly indicated that this is a situation that should not continue at a time when more than 500 million pounds of private investment sterling were generated by selling participations in the eight teams.

The Women’s Cricket Report, published before International Women’s Day on March 8, noted: “The association is concerned that the disparity between the main wages of men and women has increased, which cannot be authorized to continue.

“Since the tournament is also marketed among the male and female teams with the two teams, a club mantra, which must be applauded, it is more than disappointing to see the increase in the gap of the sexes.

“With the influx of money in the tournament thanks to the private investment in the teams, the stakeholders of the game should do everything possible to fill this gap, in particular given the increased interest, viewers and ticket sales for the hundreds of women.”

The captain of women in England Heather Knight, while applauding positive movements such as the leveling of international match costs between men and women, a minimum wage aligned in domestic cricket and the new redesign of level one, reiterated the point.

In a preface to the document, she wrote: “I am honored to have been part of the greatest transformation that female cricket has seen and the players are extremely grateful to the PCA for having disputed in our name and to be our voice in the negotiations.

“In the end, this happened because of the collaboration between the ACP and the ECB and I had the privilege of supporting this. However, it is imperative that progress will continue because there is still a lot of required catch -up, as we have recently seen with the disparity in the hundred salaries, while we are trying to guarantee a fair game in England and Wales. »»

The teammate Alice Capsey, in her own submission, added: “The Hundred was a gamechanger for female cricket, creating a platform that has led to standards on and off the field. With many aspects of the hundred fair, we have to work to fill the gap in the sexes. »»

The wider results of the PCA include a leap in the means of hundreds of wages for women, from £ 8,000 in 2021 to £ 29,100 in 2025, and a leap of only 24 fully professional players at 153 before recovery. The entire domestic financing pool has also reached 4 million pounds sterling against £ 720,000.
