The half-flies of South Africa Handre Pollard announced that it would leave the Leicester tigers to join its former team The Bulls.

The 30 -year -old will join the South African team – where he started his career in 2014 – at the end of the season, Leicester was currently in fourth place in first with 11 games played.

Pollard has joined Leicester before the 2022/23 season and has so far made 45 appearances, marking 395 points.

And the double winner of the World Cup – who scored all the points in the final victory of 12-11 against the All Blacks in 2023 – told Tigers website that “the opportunity to go home” and “to be able to return to the club where I started my career” was something that “I felt good for me and my family to take”.

“It was a difficult decision to make, to leave Leicester Tigers, because I like this club and being part of this group,” he said.

“I don’t really want to start talking as if it’s already over. There is a lot of rugby to play and I have a lot of time at Leicester Tigers, which I focus on the finish successfully, “he added, the tigers still in the running for a place of dam in the first.

Pollard began his career with the Bulls in 2014 before spending a brief fate to Japanese Red Hurricane Oragans Osaka and a few years in French Montpellier.

The CEO of Bulls, Edgar Rathbone, said in a press release: “It is good to welcome Handdre at home, a land in which he had great memories and a place where he knows very well.

“He left us at the age of 24 with so much to offer this match and returns six years more mature and seasoned.

“He has a multitude of rugby experience in international clubs, which will be great for us when we continue to settle and challenge silverware in competitions against the main European clubs,” he added.

The club later confirmed that Pollard had signed a two -year contract that will start on July 1.
