A new sporting opportunity has arrived in Accrington, offering “a hub for adventure, pleasure and development of talents”.

The North West Pentathlon Hub has set up its basis for the Accrington Academy, offering “multidisciplinary experience for all ages and capacities”.

The basic club is headed by Dr. Nic Robinson, Boxenden coach, and presents modern Pentathlon to the local community.

This sport includes five disciplines: laserrun (a mixture of running and laser shooting), swimming, speaking, obstacle course, “ biathle ” (a mixture of racing and swimming) and the “ triathle ” (running, laser shooting and swimming).

Dr. Robinson said: “We are more than delighted to offer the community this unique range of family sports.

“We hope to discover new talents to participate in Pentathlon competitions and create an environment where everyone feels included and supported.”

The club is open to all capacities, the youngest member being only eight years old and the 73 older.

The HUB has already produced European and global medalists in a wide range of age categories, and current members are competing on the GB Pathway Pentathlon program.

The North West Pentathlon Hub is not only training; He also organizes friendly competitions in the accrington region and works with the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Schools partnership to initiate more young people in the world of Pentathlon.

Inclusive is an angular stone ” of the philosophy of the hub, with athletes with physical, visual or intellectual disabilities welcomed and supported during the HUB’s days and training events.

HUB’s commitment to accessibility guarantees that everyone has the opportunity to explore their potential, regardless of their history or capacity.

The North West Pentathlon Hub has been recognized as an official development center by Pentathlon GB, the national director.

Joanne Mortimer, operations manager at Hyndburn Leisure, said: “We are delighted that NW Pentathlon has chosen Academy Acrington as a new home.

“It is a fantastic opportunity for our community to participate in an exciting and dynamic sport.

“We are impatient to see the Club grow and inspire local athletes of all ages.”

The HUB is also looking for local sponsors to help finance an additional kit for schools.
