Season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer may have ended on a suspenseful note, but don’t worry—Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) isn’t one to leave things unresolved for too long. Season 4 is officially in production in Los Angeles.
Mickey will be back in The Lincoln Lawyer, the drama series adapted from Michael Connelly’s novels, which follows Los Angeles’ most committed defense attorney. Here’s everything we know so far about Season 4, including the exciting casting of Constance Zimmer (known for UnREAL and Entourage) in a 10-episode guest role.
What is the plot of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4?
Following the dramatic events of Season 3, it’s tough to predict what will happen in Season 4, but we do know that it will consist of 10 episodes and draw from Michael Connelly’s sixth book in the Lincoln Lawyer series, The Law of Innocence.
The new season is expected to answer several unresolved questions. How will the deaths of significant characters affect the story? And now that the police have uncovered the contents of Mickey’s Lincoln, what’s in store for him?
Ted Humphrey, co-executive producer and co-showrunner, shared insights with Tudum, explaining, “The biggest cliffhanger is ‘What will happen to Mickey?’ and that will unfold throughout the season in the form of his trial.” The first episode will reveal important details about the charges Mickey faces and the adversaries he’s up against. “This is Mickey’s most personal and challenging case yet, and it will take the audience on a wild ride. Our other characters will also be grappling with their own struggles while dealing with the fallout from Mickey’s case.”
Humphrey, who directed both the Season 3 finale and the Season 4 opener, expressed his excitement about how seamlessly the new season picks up from where the previous one left off. “It’s really rewarding creatively to continue right from that moment.”
Season 4 will mark Mickey’s most personal legal battle yet, as he becomes the client. “All the advice he’s given to his clients in the past, now he has to follow himself,” Humphrey notes. “He quickly learns how difficult it is to take his own counsel.” Mickey’s legal troubles will affect not only him but also his family, loved ones, and career. As the season unfolds, Mickey will receive support from familiar faces, along with new ones, some of whom may offer valuable assistance, while others might bring unexpected challenges.
Who is in The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 cast?
Fan favorite Manuel Garcia-Rulfo will return as Mickey Haller for Season 4, joined by Becki Newton (Lorna), Jazz Raycole (Izzy), and Angus Sampson (Cisco). Neve Campbell (Maggie McPherson) will also reprise her role throughout the entire season.
A new addition to the cast is Emmy nominee Constance Zimmer, who will play Dana Berg, a former colleague of Maggie’s from the LA district attorney’s office. Dana is a determined prosecutor known for her unwavering commitment to securing a guilty verdict, earning her the intimidating nickname “Death Row Dana.” A ruthless and strategic adversary who isn’t afraid to bend the rules to get what she wants, Dana will be a formidable opponent for Mickey in what promises to be the most intense trial of his career. Co-showrunner Ted Humphrey shared his excitement about working with Zimmer, saying, “I shot our first scene with Constance in court, and it was fantastic!”
