Marco Silva has shot Fulham that the sale of their best players each year blocks the club’s progress.
Since their promotion of return to the Premier League in 2022, Fulham has been guided by Silva to the 10th and 13th place, and they are currently sitting ninth with 11 games to play this season.
Meanwhile, a number of key players have been sold. Stronger Aleksandar Mitrovic joined the Saudi Pro League Al-Hilal club for around 46 million pounds Sterling in August 2023.
Then, last summer, Bayern Munich signed the midfielder Joao Palhinha of the chalets for an amount of up to 47.5 million pounds sterling and the central defender Adarabioyo let his contract expire and joined his rivals Chelsea as a free agent.
The tastes of Rodrigo Muniz and Raul Jimenez, Sasa Lukic and Calvin Bassey have become key men in place of those who left, but Silva thinks that Fulham, who would face Brighton, could progress at a faster pace on the ground if they held precious assets.
“Our object, even losing players, is always to have better results and achieve better things,” he said.
“You can lose important players, [but] We can sign new ones that can be more important players in the future for us, and this is the most important thing. »»
When asked if we had to rebuild his team each year is a source of embarrassment, the Portuguese replied: “It is reality. If I am not frustrated or not, I will not change it. I can’t change it.
“In some moments, even if I would like to keep them all and improve myself, strengthen the team is the reality of the club. We have to consider him as a challenge – any more than that – do not cry on this subject.
“Okay, we have to find solutions. The club can take steps faster if we do not sell players, but it is reality. We have to find solutions. »»
